MY NEW CAMERA IS HERE!!! I guess that makes my journal title inappropriate. Yes, I am too lazy to change it and I hereby beat all you critical snots to pointing out that it doesn't quite fit. I will have to be much less careless with this one - cameras fall off of tables so easily. BTW, the new one is the exact same model as the first Only not broken, of course.
SOMEONE BOUGHT MY JEANS! I am so happy! I successfully sold an item on ebay. In fact, there were 3, yes, THREE bids by the time the auction ended. The way I see it, I have far too many clothes that I don't wear nearly enough to make it worth keeping them as I move on to smaller and less storage space in Richmond in the fall so I might as well get a little money for the ones that are still stylish and in good condition.
My plan to go backpacking may in fact have to be delayed until much closer to the end of the summer as jobs are a complicated mess and getting 3+ days off in a row is not a walk in the park for some people (cough JEFF cough cough...not that it's his fault at ALL, seriously...I wouldn't want to be in his position).
I am seethingly jealous of my parents for going to Bonaire without me. I must say that now-a-days, after having gone to the beach with family + friends and then just friends almost every single summer, going to the beach with JUST the fam is not so blazing a prospect. (For those in the dark geographically speaking, Bonaire is part of the ABC islands...just north of Venezuela) I love the beach.
I also love air conditioning. One thing I will miss in Richmond is air conditioning. Richmond is one hot bitch in the middle of summer...it's often at least 5 degrees hotter there than in C-ville anyway and it doesn't get much in the way of a cool breeze, as flat as it is. Anyone who would like to campaign for and/or contribute to the "give Joan and Colleen A/C in Richmond" fund is more than welcome.
I am once again enjoying working...I am nevertheless so looking forward to going back to school. I miss going to class and I dearly miss my Richmond friends. Charlottesville has become really snobby since I've lived here. Or maybe it's that Charlottesville was always snobby, I just was never in the right circle to notice until now. I think that's it - it's that second one. Charlottesville is much to small for what it is - take the downtown mall, for example. The very visibly different cultural/age/social groups appear to exist in tranquil harmony, for the most part, in that area of town but now that I work down there...the tension is almost palpable. Charlottesville isn't big enough for itself. Something like that. It's so hard to go anywhere where the people don't know you.
Okay Charlottesville isn't THAT bad. Just that rude people really piss me off.
